The patterns that make you, you.
The situation
You enjoy helping friends think through difficult decisions, but often leave group plans until somebody else chooses. In this invented example, you chose “I want time to think before answering” and “I notice when someone feels left out.” These two answers suggest a pattern worth exploring; they do not establish a personality diagnosis.
A strength, with a cost
Your attention may make it easier for other people to feel understood. The less visible cost is that checking everyone’s needs can delay expressing your own. This is not proof that you are indecisive. You might simply need more time, or feel less comfortable with this particular group. Notice whether the pattern also appears with people you trust.
Try this in one real plan
Before a friend asks what you want to do, write down one preference and one flexible part: “I would love a quiet dinner; I am flexible on the day.” Share it before collecting everyone else’s answer. For two weeks, record one situation where you stated a preference and how you felt afterward. The goal is to be clearer, not to become louder.
A question to keep
When does consideration feel like a choice, and when does it feel like disappearing? If this interpretation misses your experience, the useful correction might be: “I know what I want; I struggle to say it when the group is moving quickly.” That distinction would change the next conversation.
